Computing power for AI is where organisations in the region most often overspend, usually by a wide margin, because the conversation about how much they need happens with the company selling the equipment. Ask a vendor how many GPUs you need and the answer will never be fewer than they would like to sell.
We work it out from what you actually intend to run: the kind of AI, how many people will be using it at the same time, how fast the answers have to come back, and how much you expect all of that to grow. That turns into how much GPU and CPU power, memory and storage you need, with the spare capacity written as a number rather than hidden inside a vague safety margin. Where you have nothing running yet, we build an estimate from a comparable case and write the assumptions down so they can be revisited.
Then the money. Cloud, your own equipment on site, or a mix of the two, compared over three years, including what it would cost you to get out of each one. That last number decides how much freedom you have later. In the UAE this is rarely a purely financial question. Rules about keeping data inside the country often settle the shape of the whole thing before cost does, and it is better to find that out before the tender goes out than halfway through it.
